A job worth doing is worth doing properly.

— Krystian's rule

About the workshop

A Polish craftsman, quietly putting things right across Leeds.

I came to Leeds with a simple idea: do the work properly, charge a fair price, leave the place tidier than I found it. Years on, that's still the only rule that matters.

From a small workshop in Swarcliffe, I look after homes, landlords and small commercial sites across LS14 and the wider Leeds area. Awkward joinery that other people have given up on, a leaking toilet at 8am, a flat-pack wardrobe that won't sit straight — these are my favourite kinds of problems.

I speak English and Polish, so whether you'd rather chat in either one, you'll get the same straight answer: what it'll take, what it'll cost, when I can be there.

01

Show up, on time

Quoted slot, kept slot. If something changes, you'll know first.

02

Finish properly

Caulk lines straight, screws hidden, edges sanded. The little stuff is the job.

03

Leave it tidy

Dust sheets down, off-cuts away, your place hoovered before I leave.

What I do

One handyman, eight trades, every job done properly.

Most jobs need more than one skill — a leaky tap might need a tile re-fixed, a new door might need decorating round the frame. I bring the lot, so you don't have to chase three different trades.

General Handyman

Odd jobs, snagging lists, picture hanging, curtain poles, leaky taps, sticking doors. The small stuff that piles up.

Painting & Decorating

Whole rooms, single walls, woodwork, ceilings, panelling and feature finishes. Crisp lines, no drips.

Joinery (incl. awkward)

Doors, skirting, architraves, fitted shelving, alcove cabinets and the tricky stuff others won't touch.

Plumbing Fixes

Toilet repairs, dripping taps, basin and shower installs, isolating valves, simple pipe runs.

Electrical Fixes

Light fittings, sockets, switches, ceiling roses and small remedial jobs — qualified contractor used for full re-wires.

Drywall Repairs

Cracks, holes, doorknob dings, water damage patching and clean re-skim ready for paint.

Flat-Pack Assembly

IKEA, Wayfair, Amazon — wardrobes, beds, desks, kitchens. Built square, anchored where needed.

Bathroom Repairs

Cabinet installs, panelling, boxing in pipework, re-sealing, toilet and basin repairs.

Not sure which trade you need? Send a photo — I'll tell you straight.

How it works

Three small steps, one tidy job.

01

Tell me the job

Call, text or use the form. A quick photo or two is usually all I need to give you a sensible price.

02

I'll quote you fairly

Honest, written quote. No hidden extras, no "while I'm here" upsells unless you ask.

03

Done properly, tidied up

Show up on time, do the work, leave it cleaner than I found it. That's the whole promise.

"Krystian fitted three flat-pack wardrobes and put up some shelves in the boys' rooms. Tidy, calm, very particular about getting things straight. Came in on the price he quoted. Booked him in again already."

"Used Krystian for some awkward joinery in our converted loft — sloping ceilings, nothing square. Other guys quoted then went quiet. Krystian came over, measured, did the job and it looks perfect. Top man."

"I'm a landlord and Krystian has done four turnovers for me now — drywall patches, repaints, a kitchen tap, flat-pack desks. Reliable, quick to reply, and the work is consistently neat. Best handyman I've used in LS14."

Common questions

Straight answers, no waffle.

Anything in the multi-trade handyman remit — joinery (including the awkward stuff), painting and decorating, panelling, drywall repairs, plumbing fixes, small electrical work, flat-pack assembly, bathroom cabinets and toilet repairs, boxing in pipework, and general odd jobs. Both residential and small commercial. If a job needs a specialist (full re-wire, gas), I'll tell you and bring in someone trusted.

Yes — there's a sensible minimum to cover travel and set-up. For very small jobs, I'd usually suggest bundling a couple together, which is cheaper than two separate visits. Tell me what's on your list and I'll be straight about whether it makes sense for one trip.

Yes — fluent in both. English speakers get the same straight, no-nonsense service as Polish speakers. Tak, mówię po polsku — zadzwoń lub napisz wiadomość, bez problemu pomogę. Bilingual service is a quiet but useful USP, especially for Leeds's Polish community.

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. I keep weekends for family and rest, which means I'm sharp on Monday morning. For genuinely urgent issues — a leak you can't shut off, a door that won't lock — call me and I'll do my best to help or point you to someone who can.

Yes — public liability insurance is in place. Happy to share the certificate before any job, especially for landlords, lettings agents and small commercial clients who need it on file.

Easiest is a quick call (07467 742947) or the form below — describe the job and send a photo or two if you have them. For most small to medium jobs I can give you a fair price the same day. For bigger work I'll come out, take a proper look, and email a written quote within 48 hours. No charge, no obligation.
